Seven Tourists Hospitalized in Fiji Resort Incident

Seven tourists, including Australians and an American, were hospitalized in Fiji after experiencing nausea, vomiting, and neurological symptoms following cocktails consumed at the Warwick Fiji resort. The Fijian Health Ministry stated that it was too early to determine if tainted alcohol was the cause, although authorities are conducting toxicology tests. Two individuals remain in stable condition in the hospital, while the others have since been discharged. This incident follows a recent tragedy in Laos where six tourists died from methanol poisoning, raising safety concerns about alcohol consumption abroad. Fiji's Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that this case is isolated, with no similar incidents reported at the resort or elsewhere in Fiji. Investigations are ongoing, and the resort management has denied any malpractice regarding the quality of drinks served.
