Crystal Lake Prequel Adds Victor Miller as Producer

Peacock's 'Friday the 13th' prequel series 'Crystal Lake,' produced by A24, will star Callum Vinson as a young Jason Voorhees and Linda Cardellini as his mother, Pamela Voorhees, whose grief over Jason's presumed drowning at Camp Crystal Lake triggers the events leading to the infamous franchise. The show will serve as an expanded prequel, focusing on Pamela's transformation after giving up her singing career to raise her special needs child, and the darkness that follows his loss. Brad Caleb Kane is the showrunner, succeeding Bryan Fuller, and the cast includes Nick Cordileone, Joy Suprano, Danielle Kotch, and Phoenix Parnevik as characters from the original films. Directors Michael Lennox, Celine Held & Logan George, and Quyen Tran will helm the eight-episode season. Victor Miller, the original screenwriter, returns as executive producer. The series, which began production in 2024, marks the first major revival of the franchise in 16 years.
