Alan Edward Jailed for Terrorism Offences

Alan Edward, a 54-year-old former journalist and neo-Nazi, has been sentenced to ten years in prison for plotting acts of terrorism, including an attack on a Scottish LGBT group. Following a trial, he was found guilty of multiple charges under the Terrorism Act, including racism, anti-Semitism, and Holocaust denial. Police discovered an extensive 'armoury' at his home in Redding, Falkirk, containing weapons such as a crossbow, 14 knives (some with Nazi insignia), a Samurai sword, and various other offensive items. Judge Fiona Tait emphasized the need to protect the public from Edward's extremist views and potential for re-offending, imposing a five-year supervision order and a serious crime prevention order upon his release. Edward, who had a social media following of nearly 28,000, denied all allegations but was deemed a high risk for future offenses.
