Connor Wong Activated from Injured List, Blake Sabol Sent to AAA

Connor Wong has returned to the Boston Red Sox roster after spending nearly a month on the injured list with a fractured pinky finger. Prior to his injury, Wong struggled offensively, posting a .087 batting average in limited at-bats, but showed promise during his Triple-A rehab assignment with a .364 average and a home run. Upon his activation, backup catcher Blake Sabol was optioned to Triple-A Worcester after a brief and underwhelming stint in the majors. Wong is expected to share catching duties with Carlos Narváez, who has impressed with his defense and surprising offensive contributions, leading to an anticipated timeshare behind the plate. Additionally, Wong could see time at first base following an injury to Triston Casas.
