Iran Launches Multiple Missile Attacks On Israel After Ceasefire, Killing At Least Four In Beersheba
On June 24, an Iranian missile strike hit a residential building in Beersheba, Israel, killing at least six people and damaging civilian structures, in what Israel has called a violation of a cease-fire announced by President Trump. This missile was one of approximately 20 fired in multiple barrages across Israel around the time the cease-fire was declared, with Israel responding by targeting missile launchers in western Iran. The attack in Beersheba marked one of the deadliest Iranian strikes during the conflict, which began on June 13 with Israeli assaults on Iranian nuclear sites and infrastructure. Iranian forces have launched over 500 ballistic missiles and 1,000 drones at Israel, causing significant casualties and damage, while Israeli strikes on Iran have also resulted in hundreds of deaths. Despite Iran’s foreign minister stating that attacks ceased at 4 AM local time, Israeli officials reported continued missile barrages after the cease-fire announcement, and Prime Minister Netanyahu's office had yet to confirm support for the truce. The conflict escalated following US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites and retaliatory Iranian attacks on US military bases, underscoring the fragile and volatile situation despite the cease-fire declaration.
