Singer-Songwriter Larysa Jackson Killed in Crash
Two fatal car crashes occurred in Nashville recently, claiming the lives of Steve Van Corum and Larysa Ann Jackson. Van Corum, a 68-year-old man from Alabama, was involved in a three-vehicle crash on I-65, where his Acura SUV collided with a semi-truck and a Toyota SUV, leading to his death at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The preliminary investigation indicates the crash was due to failure to maintain lane. Separately, Nashville singer-songwriter Larysa Ann Jackson, 40, died in a single-vehicle crash on I-24 in Montgomery County. Her car left the roadway and overturned after traveling down an embankment. She was a mother of four and the first Black woman to have an artist residency on Nashville's Lower Broadway, remembered for her contributions to the music community.
