In a coordinated operation involving the Punjab Police's Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), Maharashtra Police, and central agencies, seven suspects were arrested in connection with a triple murder in Ferozepur, Punjab. The arrests were made early Saturday on the Samruddhi expressway near Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar following a surveillance operation initiated from Nanded. The suspects, identified as close associates of fugitive Ashish Chopra, were accused of killing three people, including a bride-to-be, in an inter-gang rivalry. The suspects, who were armed and traveling in a rented Toyota Innova, were intercepted by a team of 50 officers equipped with bulletproof jackets and AK-57 rifles. The victims, who were shot near Gurdwara Akalgarh Sahib, bore 36 bullet wounds, most targeted at their heads. The accused have been booked under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023 and the Arms Act, and a team from Punjab is set to bring them back for further investigation.
