The controversy over the use of animal fat in Tirupati laddoos has intensified after a lab report from NDDB CALF confirmed the presence of beef tallow, fish oil, and lard in the ghee used for the sacred sweets. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu accused the previous YSRCP government of using substandard ingredients, causing a political uproar. The YSR Congress Party vehemently denied the allegations, calling them malicious and politically motivated. YSRCP leaders, including former TTD chairman Y V Subba Reddy, claimed the ghee used was of top quality. Calls for a high-level committee or CBI investigation have been made by both sides to ensure the sanctity of the temple. The TDP claims to have improved the quality of ingredients since coming to power.
