Foreigner Announces Kelly Hansen's Departure, Successor Named

Guitarist Luis Maldonado will take over as lead vocalist, with the transition marked by an emotional onstage handoff and joint performances of classic Foreigner songs. Hansen expressed pride in passing the role to Maldonado and praised his talent, while Maldonado pledged to honor the band's legacy. Founding member Mick Jones commended Hansen for revitalizing the band and endorsed Maldonado, who has already impressed audiences during recent tours. Mick Jones remains the only original member involved with the band, but he no longer performs live.
