Several States See Memorial Day Fatalities Drop

The 2025 Memorial Day weekend saw significant reductions in traffic fatalities in several states, including Alabama, Missouri, and Ohio, compared to 2024. Alabama state troopers recorded three traffic-related deaths and no boating fatalities, down from six and one, respectively, and launched the '101 Days of Summer Safety' campaign to promote public awareness. Ohio's traffic fatalities dropped from 26 in 2024 to 12 in 2025, with impaired and unbelted driving remaining key issues.
