California AG Declines Charges Against Sheila Kuehl

Insufficient evidence was found regarding claims that Kuehl and Giggans were tipped off about sheriff's department raids on their properties in September 2022. The Attorney General's Office took over the inquiry from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which faced criticism for allegedly targeting political adversaries of then-Sheriff Alex Villanueva. Kuehl has consistently denied any wrongdoing, stating she was unaware of the contracts totaling over $800,000 and did not vote on them.
