Little Rock Police Arrest Suspect in Deadly Sandhurst Circle Shooting

Little Rock police have arrested 27-year-old Akila Dewitt in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on June 8 on Sandhurst Circle. Police responded to a call around 9:09 p.m. at the intersection of West Markham and University, where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound; the victim was transported to a hospital but later died from his injuries. Investigators determined that the shooting actually took place at #3 Sandhurst Circle. Dewitt has been charged with capital murder, and the investigation is ongoing.
