India has announced its intention to bid for the 2030 Youth Olympics, a move aimed at bolstering its ambition to host the 2036 Olympics, according to Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya. The announcement was made during the Olympic Council of Asia's 44th General Assembly, where Mandaviya emphasized the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in India's sporting initiatives. BJP president JP Nadda highlighted the country's successful history in hosting major international sporting events, such as the cricket World Cups and the U-17 football World Cup. India will face competition from several countries including Peru, Colombia, Mexico, Thailand, Mongolia, Russia, Ukraine, Bosnia, and Herzegovina for the hosting rights of the Youth Olympics. This event will mark the fifth edition of the Youth Olympics, showcasing India's commitment to enhancing its position in the global sports arena.
