Central Cee becomes joint most-decorated MOBO rapper

At the 2025 Mobo Awards, Central Cee made history by winning the best male act for the third consecutive year, tying with Stormzy as the most-decorated rapper in the awards' history with seven trophies. The ceremony, held in Newcastle, also saw significant wins for Nigerian artists, with Ayra Starr becoming the first African woman to win both best international act and best African music act in 16 years. Darkoo took home the best female act award and song of the year for her hit 'Favourite Girl' featuring Dess Dior. Bashy, after a 15-year hiatus, won best album and best hip-hop act for 'Being Poor Is Expensive'. Other winners included Odeal, who won best newcomer and best R&B or soul act, and Mnelia, who won video of the year for 'My Man'. The event highlighted a strong representation of diverse talent across various genres, celebrating both established and emerging artists.
