Monterey Plane Crash Kills All Three Onboard
On July 26, 2025, a twin-engine Beechcraft 95-B55 Baron crashed into the waters near Point Pinos off the coast of Pacific Grove, California, killing all three people on board. The plane, registered as N8796R and owned by SEA2SKY AVIATION LLC, had departed San Carlos Airport bound for Monterey Regional Airport. Search and rescue teams, including the U.S. Coast Guard, Monterey County Sheriff's Office, CAL FIRE, and others, responded promptly, recovering the victims and debris by Sunday morning. The deceased were identified as Steve Eugene Clatterbuck, James Vincent, and Jamie Lee Tabscott. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is now investigating the cause of the crash. This incident adds to a history of 12 plane crashes in the Monterey Peninsula area over the past 35 years, some of which resulted in fatalities.
