Wasabi Opens First Franchise Restaurant at London Luton Airport

Wasabi has launched its first franchised restaurant at London Luton Airport, marking a significant milestone in the brand's growth strategy alongside its franchise partner, Lagardère Travel Retail. The new 107-square-meter location features a 30-seat dine-in area and a grab-and-go counter, designed to cater to travelers seeking fresh, high-quality Japanese cuisine such as sushi, bento, and hot meals. This opening introduces Wasabi's first breakfast menu, including unique items like Korean BBQ bacon sando and pumpkin katsu, aligning with the airport's goal to enhance passenger dining options. Wasabi CEO Henry Birts emphasized that transport hubs like Luton Airport fit well with their mission to make fresh food accessible to people on the move, and the company plans to expand further across the UK. Lagardère Travel Retail's CEO Peter Newbould highlighted the addition as a strengthening of their commitment to providing convenient and flavorful dining experiences at airports.
