Jake Middleton has signed a four-year, $17.4 million contract extension with the Minnesota Wild, starting in the 2025-26 season, making him the longest-signed defenseman on the team. The deal, which includes a limited no-trade clause, has an average annual value of $4.35 million. Middleton, originally drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in 2014, has become a key player for the Wild since joining in 2021-22. Last season, he recorded 25 points (seven goals, 18 assists) and led the team with 161 blocked shots. The Wild are also looking to secure long-term deals for other defensemen, including Brock Faber and Declan Chisholm.
