Weld County Deputy Arrested for Sexual Conduct with Inmate

Jacob Golden, a 30-year-old detention officer at Weld County Jail in Colorado, was arrested on two felony counts of sexual conduct in a correctional facility after allegedly engaging in sexual acts with a 27-year-old female inmate while on duty. The incident, reported by another inmate, took place between July 12 and July 14, 2025, with evidence including notes passed between Golden and the inmate, as well as semen residue found on the inmate's clothing. Golden, who has worked at the jail for four years and is POST-certified, was arrested before his next shift and released on a $20,000 bond, currently on unpaid administrative leave pending criminal and internal investigations. The Weld County Sheriff’s Office condemned Golden's actions as "unacceptable and disturbing to the conscience" and emphasized the importance of trust in law enforcement. Separately, at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center, a 19-year-old inmate, Divine Johnson, was charged with assaulting a detention deputy with a homemade weapon, highlighting ongoing safety challenges within detention facilities. Authorities at both locations are actively investigating and implementing measures to ensure the safety and integrity of correctional environments.
