Concacaf has announced that the opening match of the 2025 Gold Cup will take place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on June 14, featuring Mexico, the reigning champions. This marks a return of Gold Cup action to SoFi Stadium, which previously hosted the 2023 Final where Mexico triumphed over Panama. Tickets for the match will go on sale starting March 27. The tournament will conclude on July 6 in Houston, but several top players may be absent due to FIFA prioritizing the Club World Cup during the same period. Mexico leads the Gold Cup titles with nine, followed by the U.S. with seven and Canada with one. SoFi Stadium is a prominent venue, also slated to host events for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
