New York Man Faces 67 Fraud Charges Across Multiple Virginia Wawa Stores
Caiteng Li, a 23-year-old man from Brooklyn, New York, was arrested in Stafford County, Virginia, following an interstate fraud scheme involving multiple unauthorized credit card transactions at several Wawa stores. Deputies responded to reports starting at the Wawa on Garrisonville Road, where surveillance footage showed Li making 11 fraudulent purchases before he was tracked to other nearby Wawa locations where he made additional unauthorized transactions or attempts. Li was detained at the Wawa on Richmond Highway, found to be driving without a valid license, and was in possession of suspected controlled substances, money orders, and recent store receipts. He faces 67 charges, including multiple counts of credit card theft, credit card fraud, identity theft with intent to defraud, receiving goods by fraud, obtaining money by false pretenses, possession of controlled substances, and driving without a license. Li was booked at Rappahannock Regional Jail and held without bond. Authorities praised the deputies' proactive coordination and swift information sharing that led to his apprehension.
