New Flyer Wins Contracts for 256 Electric, Hybrid Buses in Ottawa, Suffolk

NFI Group's subsidiary, New Flyer, has secured significant contracts to supply electric and hybrid-electric buses to transit authorities in Ottawa and Suffolk County, New York, as part of broader efforts to electrify public transit fleets. In Ottawa, New Flyer received an order for 124 Xcelsior CHARGE NG™ 40-foot battery-electric buses from OC Transpo, building on a previous order to bring the total to 175 electric buses, supported by local and federal funding. Meanwhile, Suffolk County Transit awarded New Flyer a contract for up to 132 buses over five years, including 92 hybrid-electric 35-foot buses and 40 battery-electric 40-foot buses, enhancing the county's fleet with more energy-efficient vehicles.
