Four-Star Prospect Jalen Montonati Commits Oklahoma State Basketball

Jalen Montonati, a highly rated 6-foot-7 small forward from Owasso, Oklahoma, has committed to Oklahoma State University, choosing the Cowboys over more than 20 major programs including Oklahoma, Alabama, Kansas, and Michigan. A two-time Oklahoma Gatorade Player of the Year, Montonati averaged 23.3 points, six rebounds, and three assists as a junior and has already scored over 1,500 career points. His commitment is significant as he is the first pledge for OSU's 2026 recruiting class and is seen as a foundational building block for the program under coach Steve Lutz. Montonati, the son of former OSU player Brian Montonati, brings size, shooting ability, and versatility, fitting Oklahoma State's strategy of versatile wings who can stretch the floor and create matchup problems. He also has national recognition, ranked No. 53 overall and No. 19 among small forwards in the 2026 class, and has experience winning gold with USA Basketball’s U16 team.
