Former Douglas Elliman CEO Admits Relationships

Howard Lorber, the former CEO of Douglas Elliman, admitted during a five-hour internal inquiry that he had intimate relationships with two female brokers, Jennine Gourin and Jessica Cohen, shortly before his retirement on October 22. His resignation followed mounting sexual harassment allegations against him and concerns regarding the company's culture and financial performance. Gourin, who has ties to actor Jack Nicholson, reportedly earned over $500,000 in commissions between 2013 and 2014, while Cohen was also connected to allegations against former top agents at the firm. The internal inquiry was prompted by a previous inadequate investigation led by Lorber's longtime attorney. Additionally, Lorber's departure was characterized by the company as not due to any operational disagreements. The firm has faced scrutiny over recent lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct by former agents.
