Gas prices across the United States have been steadily declining, with several states reporting average prices below $3 per gallon. Springfield, Massachusetts, saw a decrease to an average of $3.07 per gallon, while Georgia and Ohio both reported prices dipping below $3. Nationally, the average price of gasoline has fallen to $3.15 per gallon, down 26.2 cents from a month ago and 70.5 cents lower than a year ago. Experts attribute the decline to reduced demand and lower crude oil prices, with further drops expected as winter gasoline formulations are introduced. Diesel prices have also decreased, reaching the lowest levels since January 2022.
