Love's 228 Yards Propel Notre Dame 34-24
Notre Dame defeated USC 34-24 Saturday night at Notre Dame Stadium in a rain-soaked rivalry game. Running back Jeremiyah Love rushed for a career-best 228 yards (a Notre Dame Stadium record) and totaled 265 scrimmage yards, powering a 306-yard team rushing attack. Jadarian Price returned a kickoff 100 yards, and Notre Dame’s defense tightened in the second half — including a late fourth‑and‑1 stop and a game-sealing interception — to help seal the win. USC quarterback Jordan Maiava threw for 328 yards and two touchdowns, but the Trojans were hampered by late miscues and injuries, including a season‑ending injury to Eli Sanders and an ankle injury to Waymond Jordan. The victory was Notre Dame’s fifth straight after an 0-2 start, kept their College Football Playoff hopes alive, moved the Irish up to No. 13 in the Coaches Poll, and dropped USC out of the top 25.
