Climber dies after 20-foot fall in Boulder Canyon
A climber tragically died after falling approximately 20 feet while climbing with family and friends in the Riviera climbing area of Boulder Canyon, Colorado, on Sunday. Emergency services received a 911 text around 3:15 p.m. regarding the incident, which indicated that CPR was in progress but the climber was unresponsive upon their arrival. The victim, a 41-year-old man from Golden, was transported down by rescue personnel but succumbed to his injuries. Multiple agencies, including Boulder County Emergency Services and the Boulder County Coroner’s Office, coordinated the response. Boulder Canyon is known for its climbing activities, and similar accidents have been reported in the area previously. The coroner's office will release the victim's identity after notifying next of kin.
