Collins Out with Concussion in 27-19 Loss
Nico Collins suffered a concussion when his head struck the turf on a contested fourth-quarter catch and was ruled out for the remainder of the Texans' 27-19 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. He was evaluated on the sideline, walked to the locker room and will have a short week to clear the NFL's concussion protocol ahead of Houston's Week 8 home game against the San Francisco 49ers. Quarterback C.J. Stroud finished with 229 passing yards, a touchdown and an interception and said losing Collins — “our best player on offense” — made the night tougher. Houston was already without Christian Kirk (hamstring), and the team said it would lean on Xavier Hutchinson and rookies Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel if Collins cannot play. Collins, a 26-year-old Pro Bowl receiver coming off back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons, had four catches for 27 yards on 10 targets before exiting.
