Lansing shooting leaves 45-year-old man dead, police investigate

Christopher Bonilla Sr., a 45-year-old man, was fatally shot outside the Centerfolds Gentleman’s Club on Pennsylvania Avenue in Lansing early Sunday morning. Police responded to the scene around 1:00 a.m., provided medical care, and transported him to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The incident is believed to have resulted from a confrontation between involved parties, rather than a random act. A 36-year-old man is considered a person of interest, but no formal charges have been filed yet. The Lansing Police Department is actively investigating the homicide and urges anyone with information to contact them. Separately, a person was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at Western Michigan University, with no known connection to the institution.
