Indian badminton players Sathish Kumar Karunakaran and Sankar Subramanian advanced to the men's singles quarterfinals at the Taipei Open, with Karunakaran defeating Kantaphon Wangcharoen from Thailand 24-22, 23-21, and Subramanian overcoming Joakim Oldorff of Finland 21-12, 19-21, 21-11. However, the women's singles contingent faced disappointment, with three players eliminated in the quarterfinals. Aakarshi Kashyap lost to Thailand’s Pornpicha Choeikeewong in straight sets, while world No. 3 Tai Tzu Ying swiftly defeated Taniya Hemanth 21-11, 21-10.
