An Army officer and his fiancée allege severe mistreatment by police at Bhubaneswar's Bharatpur police station after attempting to file a complaint about a road rage incident. The fiancée, who is also a lawyer, claims she was sexually harassed, beaten, and molested by the inspector-in-charge and other officers. The police, in turn, accuse the couple of being intoxicated and assaulting officers. Both parties have filed complaints, and the Odisha Crime Branch has launched an investigation following intervention by the Indian Army.
