Instagram Launches Spotify Song Previews in Stories Globally

Instagram has introduced a new feature that allows users to share Spotify songs with 15-second audio previews directly in their Stories, enhancing the music sharing experience by enabling followers to listen without leaving the app. Previously, shared Spotify tracks appeared as silent stickers with links, requiring users to switch apps to hear the music. This update builds on Instagram's earlier integration with Spotify Notes, which lets users stream songs in real-time within their status updates. The move strengthens Instagram's position in the competitive social music space dominated by TikTok by offering a more seamless and laid-back music discovery experience. Alongside this, Instagram is rolling out new fonts for Stories and Reels, including a limited-time font inspired by singer Rosalía's handwriting, which unlocks custom symbols when used. These combined efforts signal Instagram's intention to be a major hub for music engagement and social interaction.
