Bruce Springsteen Plans Expanded Nebraska Box Set, Electric Sessions, Film
Bruce Springsteen is set to release a deluxe five-disc box set titled "Nebraska ’82: Expanded Edition" on October 17, which will include the long-sought electric versions of songs from his 1982 album "Nebraska." These electric sessions feature the E Street Band and include an eight-song disc with full-band takes on the album's tracks plus early versions of songs that later appeared on "Born in the U.S.A.," highlighted by a new trio rendition of the title track. The set also contains a remastered version of the original acoustic album, previously unreleased outtakes, and a newly recorded concert film of Springsteen performing the entire "Nebraska" album live for the first time, directed by Thom Zimny. The release coincides with the October 24 theatrical debut of "Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere," a film dramatizing the making of "Nebraska" starring Jeremy Allen White. This expanded edition offers fans unprecedented insight into the creative process behind one of Springsteen's most iconic works, showcasing both the raw home recordings and the full-band studio attempts that were ultimately shelved in favor of the minimalist solo versions. The box set promises to satisfy long-standing fan curiosity about the elusive "Electric Nebraska" recordings, many of which have never been officially released or bootlegged before.
