Former Newsboys Frontman Michael Tait Accused of Sexual Misconduct by Multiple Men

Michael Tait, the longtime frontman of the Newsboys and former member of the Grammy-winning group DC Talk, has been accused by multiple men of grooming, sexual misconduct, and substance abuse spanning incidents from 2004 to 2014, according to an extensive investigation by The Roys Report. Three men, all 22 years old at the time of the alleged incidents, described patterns of predatory behavior including non-consensual touching, unwanted massages, and offers of cocaine during Christian music tours. The allegations have reportedly circulated within Nashville's Christian music community for years but were only recently documented after a two-and-a-half-year inquiry involving over 50 sources and corroborating evidence such as old text messages. Tait unexpectedly stepped down from the Newsboys in January 2025, just before a world tour, without providing an explanation, and he has not responded to repeated requests for comment. Newsboys’ management clarified that Tait was never an owner of the band and declined to comment on the allegations. The accusations have shocked the Christian music world given Tait's high-profile career and previous appearances alongside figures like President Donald Trump.
