Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 to Pace 109th Indy 500

The 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, with a record-setting top speed of 233 mph, has been chosen as the official pace car for the 109th Indianapolis 500, marking the fastest car ever produced by an American automaker. The ZR1 features a 5.5L twin-turbo V8 engine generating 1,064 horsepower—the most powerful V8 ever made in America—and can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 2.3 seconds. For its pace car role, it comes equipped with the Carbon Aero package, providing over 1,200 pounds of downforce to enhance stability at high speeds. Michael Strahan, a Pro Football Hall of Famer and television personality, will serve as the honorary pace car driver for the event. This selection continues Chevrolet’s tradition, as the brand marks its 36th time pacing the Indy 500 and the 22nd appearance for the Corvette model. The car features an Arctic White exterior, Jet Black interior, and distinctive green and gold racing stripes inspired by the Indy 500 logo.
