Manchester United agrees £18m deal for Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens
Manchester United are closing in on signing goalkeeper Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp, having agreed personal terms and an £18 million (€21 million) fee without a sell-on clause. The 23-year-old Belgian is traveling to Manchester to complete the transfer before the 7pm UK deadline, with United prioritizing a new goalkeeper after errors from current keepers Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir. The club is also considering Aston Villa's Emiliano Martinez, but United appear likely to sign only one of the two goalkeepers due to Martinez's high valuation and Lammens' potential as an upgrade. Lammens impressed in the 2024-25 season with a 77% save rate and 40 league appearances for Antwerp, who value him at around €25 million. Meanwhile, United have extended veteran goalkeeper Tom Heaton's contract for another year to bolster their options. The final decision between Lammens and Martinez remains pending, with Aston Villa and Galatasaray monitoring Lammens' situation in case United choose Martinez instead.
