Sugababes' Keisha Buchanan Abuse Case in Court

Keisha Buchanan, founding member of the Sugababes, has accused her former partner, ex-footballer Taiwo Leo Atieno, of a decade-long campaign of abuse, including assault, coercive control, harassment, and breaching a court order. Prosecutors allege Atieno assaulted Buchanan on multiple occasions, inflicted injuries that required physiotherapy, and controlled aspects of her finances, diet, and personal appearance, including restricting her gym use and criticizing her for wearing red lipstick. The court also heard that Atieno limited her use of the shower and television. After their relationship ended, Atieno allegedly continued to harass Buchanan through texts, emails, and social media, and breached a non-molestation order by contacting her and demanding money. Atieno has denied all charges and has been remanded in custody, with the case proceeding at Harrow Crown Court. The case has highlighted the broader issue of domestic abuse and coercive control in high-profile relationships.
