Metra's Union Pacific North line experienced significant service disruptions Monday morning due to emergency track repairs near Evanston Main Street station. Outbound train service to Kenosha was temporarily suspended until approximately 10 a.m., leading to the cancellation of multiple outbound trains including Nos. 308, 316, 320, 324, 326, and 334. Some inbound trains were also affected, with delays ranging from 35 to 55 minutes reported. Passengers were advised to seek alternate transportation and could board select trains such as Nos. 310, 312, 314, 318, and 338. The exact cause for the emergency repairs was not disclosed by Metra officials. This disruption impacted one of Metra's highest performing lines, which serves commuters traveling between Chicago, northern suburbs, and Wisconsin.
