Kangaroo Captured After Hopping Along Busy St. Cloud Road

A kangaroo was spotted hopping along Hickory Tree Road in St. Cloud, Florida, prompting concern from local residents due to the area's heavy traffic. The unusual sighting was captured on video by a resident and reported to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), which dispatched a Captive Wildlife Investigator to the scene. With assistance from another licensed kangaroo facility owner, officials safely located the kangaroo hiding in nearby woodland, chemically immobilized it, and transported it to a local facility. A veterinarian confirmed the animal was in good health. The FWC is investigating the animal’s origins, as kangaroos are classified as Class III wildlife in Florida and require a permit to be kept legally. The identity of the kangaroo's owner remains unknown.
