Tech Tycoon Mike Lynch Missing After Yacht Sinks

Mike Lynch, the British tech entrepreneur known for founding Autonomy, has been confirmed dead after his luxury yacht, Bayesian, sank in a storm off Sicily while he was celebrating his recent acquittal from a high-profile fraud case. The yacht capsized during a violent waterspout, leading to the deaths of at least five individuals, including Lynch and Morgan Stanley chairman Jonathan Bloomer, while his 18-year-old daughter Hannah remains missing. Lynch's legal troubles stemmed from a disastrous 2011 sale of Autonomy to Hewlett-Packard for $11 billion, which resulted in HP writing down $8.8 billion and Lynch facing criminal charges. Although he was acquitted less than two months ago, he was still engaged in a civil lawsuit regarding the transaction. The yacht was carrying 22 people, with 15 survivors rescued, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
