Deputies Shoot Man After Stabbing Incident
A 22-year-old man from Ypsilanti was shot by Washtenaw County Sheriff's deputies after allegedly stabbing a 53-year-old woman, the driver of a vehicle he was in, leading to a crash on Geddes Road in Superior Township. The incident unfolded around 8 p.m. when deputies arrived following reports of the crash and subsequent stabbing, with the suspect reportedly attempting to assault witnesses at the scene. Deputies confronted the armed man and used lethal force to subdue him, shooting him at least three times. Both the suspect and the victim were transported to hospitals for treatment, though their conditions remain unclear. The Michigan State Police is overseeing the investigation into the shooting, as details regarding the motivation for the stabbing and the deputies' use of force are still being examined. The names of those involved have not been released pending the investigation.
