Deep Purple Releases 20th Anniversary Remix and Expanded Rapture of the Deep

Deep Purple is celebrating the 20th anniversary of their album Rapture of the Deep with an expanded reissue featuring a complete remix, remaster, and new artwork. The reissue includes an expanded 12-song tracklist and a bonus disc of previously unreleased studio jams and rehearsals, such as an instrumental titled “Closing Note” by guitarist Steve Morse. Bassist Roger Glover, who supervised the new mix, reflected on the difficult period during the album's original production when the band was without a record company and feeling uncertain, describing the album as a turning point leading to four consecutive No. 1 albums in later years. The remastered album was analog-mastered at Chameleon Studios in Hamburg, and the release offers fans fresh clarity and insight into what was once an overlooked chapter in Deep Purple's discography. Additional liner notes by rock journalist Geoff Barton provide context about the band's struggles and creative process at the time. The reissue will be available on August 29 in multiple formats including vinyl, CD, and digital.
