The discussion highlighted the ongoing ILO-led Better Work Bangladesh programme aimed at improving working conditions and occupational safety for RMG workers. Both leaders emphasized the necessity of continued efforts to foster safer and more equitable workplaces, as well as future collaborations aligned with the EU’s Due Diligence Directive on human rights and environmental accountability. Hossain noted the advancements made in the sector and reaffirmed the commitment to ongoing improvements. The BGMEA representatives called for ILO's support in promoting social dialogue and developing workforce skills in response to technological advancements. The meeting underscores a collective commitment to enhancing labor standards and industrial relations in Bangladesh's garment sector.
