Juvenile Arrested in Washington DC for School Shooting Threat After Minneapolis Attack
Following a tragic mass shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis that killed two children and wounded over a dozen others, federal and local authorities in Washington, D.C., arrested a juvenile on suspicion of threatening violence toward a school. The juvenile, arrested in Ward 7, faced charges including threats to kidnap and injure, possession of stolen property, unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, and possession of a large-capacity feeding device. A search warrant led to the recovery of seven firearms from the juvenile, whose arrest was prompted by social media posts containing alleged violent threats. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasized the administration's focus on removing public safety threats and expressed sympathy for the families affected by the Minneapolis shooting, encouraging prayers and community support. The arrest was credited to the law enforcement efforts under the current administration, highlighting proactive measures to prevent further violence. Authorities continue to address community safety concerns in the wake of these incidents.
