Battolyser Systems Raises €30 Million in Funding

Battolyser Systems, a Dutch startup specializing in electrolyser technology, has successfully raised €30 million ($33 million) in a Series A funding round, with contributions from Global Cleantech Capital, Innovation Industries, and Invest-NL. This funding will support the development of large-scale manufacturing facilities in the Rotterdam port area and facilitate the market launch of its new 2.5MW and 5MW hydrogen production systems by 2025. The company, which previously secured a €40 million financing deal with the European Investment Bank, utilizes a unique nickel-iron battery system to convert renewable energy into green hydrogen. CEO Mattijs Slee highlighted their successful pilot project at RWE’s Magnum power plant as a key achievement. The investment reflects Invest-NL's commitment to driving innovation and sustainability in the Netherlands. Battolyser aims to leverage its technology to enhance the efficiency and affordability of green hydrogen production.
