RCMP Dismantles Large Canadian Dark Web Drug Network Seizing 75 Kg Narcotics
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have dismantled one of the largest dark web drug trafficking operations in Canadian history, centered around a sophisticated criminal enterprise named "RoadRunna." This network allegedly shipped approximately 400 packages of narcotics weekly across Canada, including cocaine, MDMA, methamphetamine, heroin, ketamine, and 10,000 prescription and non-prescription pills, using dark web platforms to evade detection. The investigation began after German authorities took down a dark web marketplace and shared data with Canadian law enforcement, leading to a multi-agency probe involving RCMP units from Vancouver and Milton, as well as international partners such as Europol and FINTRAC. Seven men from the Greater Toronto Area have been arrested and charged with various offenses including conspiracy to traffic drugs, possession for the purpose of trafficking, and related crimes. Authorities seized significant evidence including narcotics, electronic devices, and branded packaging materials during several executed search warrants. The RCMP emphasized ongoing efforts to combat evolving criminal tactics on the dark web and encourage the public to report any information related to drug trafficking.
