Sweet Karam Coffee Raises $8M for Expansion, New Products
Sweet Karam Coffee, a Chennai-based direct-to-consumer brand specializing in South Indian snacks and sweets, has successfully raised $8 million in a Series A funding round led by Peak XV Partners, alongside existing investor Fireside Ventures. The funds will be utilized to enhance its omnichannel distribution, accelerate product development, and strengthen its supply chain. Founded in 2015, the company has experienced significant growth, achieving a fourfold increase in revenue over the past year and expanding its reach to over 32 countries. CEO Nalini Parthiban emphasized the importance of quick commerce in bridging distribution gaps and fostering cultural exchange through their products. The brand prides itself on offering authentic recipes free from palm oil and preservatives, catering to a growing demand for healthier options in the food market, which is valued at over Rs 25,000 crore. To support its growth strategy, Sweet Karam Coffee has appointed Nandhitha Indermohan, a former Unilever executive, as its Chief Operating Officer.
