Mark Cavendish, the British cycling legend and record holder for Tour de France stage wins, hinted at a possible return for the 2025 Tour despite previously announcing that the 2024 edition would be his last. At a presentation in Paris, he shared that after feeling exhausted post-2024, a recent family holiday allowed him to gain a fresh perspective on his career. Cavendish's smile and response to whether he would aim for a 36th win at age 40 left the door open for a comeback. He made history in July by surpassing Eddy Merckx's long-standing record of 34 stage wins, achieving his 35th victory. Now 39, Cavendish has plans to remain involved in cycling through management after his retirement, expressing a deep love for the sport. "It's my 15th Tour de France and it takes a lot to get here," he remarked, reflecting on his journey.
