John Korir, Sharon Lokedi Win 2025 Boston Marathon

Kenya's John Korir won the 2025 Boston Marathon men's race, joining his brother Wesley as the first siblings ever to both claim victory at the prestigious event. Korir surged ahead at the 20-mile (32-km) mark and finished with the second-fastest time in race history, clocking 2:04:45. Alphonce Simbu of Tanzania finished second, narrowly edging out Kenyan Cybrian Kotut, while American Conner Mantz placed fourth. In the women's division, Sharon Lokedi of Kenya outpaced defending champion Hellen Obiri to secure her first Boston title with a time of 2:17:22, ending Obiri's bid for a third consecutive win. Lokedi's victory also adds to her major marathon successes, following her previous win at the New York City Marathon. The 2025 edition also marked the 50th anniversary of the race’s wheelchair division.
