Search Continues for Missing Boater on Des Moines River, Iowa

The incident occurred around 9:50 a.m. on a Sunday when the boat likely struck underwater concrete, ejecting Straube and 50-year-old Roseanne Benda into the river. Benda was rescued by deputies and nearby boaters using a drone to locate her, but Straube remained missing despite over 10 hours of searching on Sunday. Search efforts were suspended after dark and resumed the following morning with multiple boats equipped with sonar. As of Tuesday evening, the search continued, with plans to extend into a third day if Straube is not found.
