Malaysian Police Rescue 402 Children from Abuse

Malaysian police arrested 171 individuals and rescued 402 children from 20 welfare homes in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan during a major operation dubbed 'Op Global'. The children, aged between one and 17, were reportedly victims of abuse, including sexual exploitation and indoctrination under the guise of religious charity. Inspector General of Police Razarudin Husain revealed that the caretakers, including religious teachers, inflicted punishments using heated objects and claimed inappropriate touching was part of medical rituals. The rescued children will undergo health screenings at the Police Training Academy, with the documentation process expected to take up to 14 days. Razarudin condemned the exploitation of children and indicated potential links to a banned Islamic sect. Authorities are investigating the broader implications of the syndicate's activities, including possible fatalities due to neglect.
